The Music Dance Relationship in SIX
The Music Dance Relationship in SIX!
Task Two
The time signature for this extract is 4/4, this means that there are four beats in a bar. The name for the time value for a full pulse note is a crotchet and a half pulse note is called a quaver. In the final three bars, the time lengths of the rests are equal to six crotchets or four crotchets in a bar and then another two crotchets in the second bar before the lyrics “we’re six”. In bar 135 we do two step ball-changes and then pose with our right arm in the air on the first beat of bar 132. Then we rest for two beats in that bar and go back to another two step ball-changes before we all crouch to the floor in cannon. The first group crouches on the first beat in bar 138 and then the second group crouches on the second beat in the bar, the third group crouches on the third beat in the bar and the fourth group crouches on the fourth beat in the bar. We then wait for seven beats and then all jump up on the eighth beat in the bar. We then all pose for the first beat in bar 142 and hold that position for three more counts.
Task Three
In this extract the time signature of this extract is 4/4 which means that there are four beats in a bar. The time value for a half pulse note is equivalent to half a beat in a bar. In bar 146, there are eight quavers. In bars 146 and 147, we have been told to freestyle two counts of eight but make it slightly jolted to account for the quaver rhythm.
